                          2014 Training Course on Public Pension in Asia and the Pacific Region

 

Twenty-two delegates from eleven countries in Asia and the Pacific region participated in creating benchmark Korean national pension policy

 

¡ØTwenty-two representatives from eleven countries out of 42 applicants from 17 nations have been chosen to participate in the program .

 

¡àChairman Choi Kwang announced that the National Pension Service will hold a ¡°Training Course on Public Pension in Asia and the Pacific Region¡± in the International Conference Room at the National Pension Service from September  24thto26th.

 

¡Û The ¡°Training Course on Public Pension in Asia and the Pacific Region¡± is co-hosted by the National Pension Service and the OECD Korea Policy Center, and sponsored by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The countries which will be present for training include Bangladesh, Myanmar, Cambodia, Nepal, and Bhutan, which plan to implement pension service. Countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, China, the Philippines, and Pakistan, which need develop their pension policy, will also be in attendance. A total of twenty-two pension specialists and officers from eleven countries will take part in the training.

 

¡Û This training program has been designed to help and support the attending countries in rapidly adopting national pension policy by sharing the know-how and successful experiences of the National Pension Service. The management and expansion of the NPS¡¯s pension policy will be a great help for the Asian and Pacific countries which are at the stage of initiating or improving their own national pension service.

 

¡àThe Chairman and CEO of the National Pension Service, Choi Kwang, says that he hopes that the National Pension Service¡¯s management practices of the past twenty-seven years can be an important factor in helping the trainee countries develop a social welfare system, and especially a national pension policy. He also stated that he looks forward this training course as an opportunity to strengthen the cooperative ties among Asian Pacific countries.
